The way to he wise.
Those boys and girls who love to read.
Will soon be wise in thought and deed;
With toil and care they all will thrive.
But none will shine who do not strive.
Lesson 62.
The Cat.
Puss loves a barn, a cell, or house.
Where she can catch a rat or mouse ;
She hunts them well, both nights and days.
And thus she earns our thanks and praise.
The Lion.
Of all the beasts this is the king;
To seize his prey he makes a spring;
Stout are his limbs, and large his claws.
His teeth are sharp, and wide his jaws.
The Horse.
The horse so strong, of use is found
To draw the coach, and till the ground:
Men on his back will ride with ease.
From town to town, just where they please.
The Cows.
The cows for hay, on which they feed,
Will give us milk to soak our bread;
And when men kill them, then their meat.
Is good for boys and girls to eat.
