Lesson 42.
Be not too nice in what you eat or drink, but take
what is good for you: they, who serve you, know, what
is best for you; if you have not what you wish for, you
must not be cross; when you have done, rise, and tliank
God for your food. In the first place, love God, and,
for his sake, love all who arc good ; yet we must not
hate those that do ill, but try to turn them from their
bad ways, for tliis is right in the sight of God, who will
love us, and do us much good for the same.
He not proud, for all that you have comes from God;
He gave you all, and, if He will, can take all from you.

low of your-self, and you shall be high in the good will of
all that know you. Youth is the time to learn what will

to make tlie most of four time, nor waste the least part
of it, for you cannot call time back, when once it is
past and gone.

Lord, tcacli my heart to live to Thee.
Lesso>- 43.
See that you be not rude, for it will look bad in you ;
young folks ought to be still and meek , and it is by tliese
means they gnin the love of all who know them: henr what
I. say, and take heed that you go not out of the good
path, that leads to joy and peace. Let it be your chief
piide to be tirst at your book, and this will give great
joy to those that tcacli you, who, in their turn, will
speak well of you, and give you all you can ask ; and
your heart will be full of joy.
Rise with the sun, and like him still go on, till you
come to the end of vour task; he has been in the skies
